capital area psychological association |
Capital Area Psychological Association has been a vehicle for professional fellowship and networking, a forum for professional education, and a local spotlight for national and statewide professional issues in Central Texas for many years. CAPA is an association of psychologists who engage in professional development, advocacy, and networking opportunities. CAPA members work in a wide variety of professional settings, including state agencies, private practice, universities and other educational settings, hospitals, and non-profit organizations.
CAPA provides a great number of benefits to its members! First and foremost, it offers the opportunity to meet other psychologists in the community to find out about their practices and to become more connected to the wider network of psychologists in the capital area. With eight monthly programs (including a meeting with the local association of psychiatrists), you can also earn 18 of the TSBEP yearly requirement of 20 continuing education credits by attending all of our meetings, as well as our Fall and Spring Conferences. CAPA members receive substantial savings on all of CAPA's Professional Development presentations.
Membership in CAPA also gives you the opportunity to have an impact on the profession of psychology in Austin-- we are trying to come up with new ways to promote psychology as a profession and to educate the public about psychology and what it can offer.
We hope you will join us!
